Types of Motorcycle Boot Spares

Buckles are essential on some motorcycle boot styles to either ensure a snug fit or as a quick-release mechanism for easy on and off. Yet, as robust as they are, they do over time wear or become damaged in action. Replacement buckles and buckle brackets are ideal for getting your boots back on their feet.

An integral part of any buckle mechanism is the strap. Straps have a long shelf life but do stretch, meaning they no longer provide the correct tension. A loose boot is a dangerous boot and a new bootstrap ensures a secure fit.

For safety, it is advisable to wear good quality motorcycle boots or at the least motorcycle shoes on every ride. Yet, if for some reason you don't, you may need a shoe protector. These items are either leather or synthetic leather and fit securely over the toe of the boot to prevent wear from the gear lever.

Gear shift protectors do the same job as shoe protectors but with a sleeve that fits over the gear lever to protect your footwear from gear-change grooves.

These curved boot spares attach to the outer edge of the toe box on the motorcycle boot and act as an anti-abrasion measure. Over time they wear and a replacement takes mere moments to fix, thanks to the securing screw(s). Some sliders are metal or polyurethane while some boots have magnesium sliders.
