The result is a conventional-looking pair of jeans or cargo pants that protect the skin by providing vital seconds of abrasion resistance in a slide. As for impact resistance, manufacturers place internal pockets inside high-impact areas such as the hips and knees. These pockets take protective pads. The pads are either supplied or the pockets are empty. This option means you can choose your own impact-resistant pads with various combinations of foam or gel. While some pants offer overall protection, others feature an aramid liner that covers the backside, hips, thighs and knees. Motorcycle cargo pants are available in a choice of colours. These include chino-style light tan, grey, black and camouflage patterns. As for the cut, you can choose from slim fit, straight leg or relaxed fit. Wearing protective gear when riding makes total sense. Yet, that needn't mean you resemble a MotoGP competitor.
